Sustainable Jewellery

As you may know, Psalms is highly concerned for and active in advocating for various Human Rights causes. However, it has come to our attention that not enough justice and advocacy is being brought to protecting our environment. Did you know that we throw away nearly one million tonnes of clothing per year? Fashion moves so fast, darting from one trend to the next that we forget about the t-shirt we bought a month ago and only wore for a month before throwing it away. As a result of the uprising hazards of environmental unconcern, Psalms has decided to use all recycled jewellery in the launching of a new line of jewellery called “Let It Be”. It is a fresh collection of sustainable fashion that encourages the recycling of vintage jewellery into new pieces of art, recreating the old into new. This is an incredible way of contributing to the environment that we are constantly destroying, using, and abusing. God made this creation and in the beginning, everything was good. It is our responsibility to sustain all the good things of the earth and to leave it untainted. God made everything good and we need to 'Let It Be'.

Psalms 91:1 creations are artistic inspirations expressed through jewellery. Unique and affordable, our hand made jewellery catches the eye and is a reflection of the soul.

There’s jewellery designed for everyone of all ages so Shop online, at our retailers or visit our store!

Monthly Draw Submission from: Sarah Johnson

Psalms 91:1 was put on hold for three months this summer due to a missionary trip Sally undertook in Namibia, Africa.

On April 31st, Sally left to serve the people of Namibia and was used by God to teach jewellery skills to the youth who suffered from financial difficulties. She also worked with the OVC (Orphan and vulnerable children mostly effected by HIV/AIDS), and the hospital doing dance and art therapy, and with the HIV/AIDS committee working on drama skits on the effects of HIV/AIDS which were performed around the town of Rundu.

“During the time spent in Namibia, God taught me many new things including the importance of doing my best in all the opportunities He puts in my life, and doing everything not for temporary pleasure, or for earthly treasure that will one day fade away, but to please and honour our creator, glorifying Him in all that I do.

God has placed my Namibian friends in my heart and I am motivated more than ever to use my gifts to continue to help and be there for them even if we are apart physically. That is the reason why I have launched the HIMBA collection which is dedicated to them.

Profit from Jewellery purchased in this collection will be donated to either the youth of Indama church, OVC children, or the HIV/AIDS committee.

If you are interested in hearing more about the people of Namibia, and see some visuals, I would be more than happy to share my eye opening experiences with you. Thank you for your care and support.”

We can do no great things, just small things with great love. It is not how much you do, but how much love you put into doing it.

Poverty was created not by God, but by you and me, because we have not learned to love our neighbour as ourselves.
